Everest Base Camp virtual trek portal

Welcome to our Everest Base Camp virtual Christmas trek participant portal! The hike to Everest Base Camp and back is an adventurous 129-kilometre long journey in the heart of the stunning Khumbu valley, with over 7,650 metres of ascent! On this portal you can:

  • track your hiking progress against your goal & see how other participants are doing
  • track overall fundraising progress against our £2,000 target
  • check the Everest weather forecast
  • follow how our fundraisers are doing by visiting their fundraising pages
  • join the event if you'd like to participate

Thank you for trying to help us hit our goal of raising £2,000 to support our life-changing work with disadvantaged young people. We'll deliver 20 free, Everest-themed webinars for schools & youth groups to inspire 4,000 young people to raise their aspirations and help close the attainment gap!

Once booked, you need to sign up for Strava to record & sync your activities to our event tracking platform. You can also download our Vamoos app. After booking, we'll invite you to our event Strava club, share our tracking platform joining code & provide login details for Vamoos. You'll be good to go!

Each day, you'll receive a detailed email update on the next day's route!

The daily distances we would cover on the actual trek are: 

Day 1 - Arrive in Kathmandu, briefing, sort kit, dinner - 0 km

Day 2 - Trek Day 1: Lukla to Phakding – 9.1km

Day 3 - Trek Day 2: Phakding to Namche Bazaar – 12.7 km

Day 4 - Trek Day 3: Namche Bazaar to Everest View Hotel to Namche (acclimatisation) – 5.2 km

Day 5- Trek Day 4: Namche Bazaar to Debuche – 9.3 km

Day 6 - Trek Day 5: Debuche to Dingboche – 10.1 km

Day 7 - Trek Day 6: Dingboche to Dingboche Ridge to Dingboche (acclimatisation) – 5.1 km

Day 8 - Trek Day 7: Dingboche to Lobuche – 8.1 km

Day 9 - Trek Day 8: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep – 12.1 km

Day 10 - Trek Day 9: Gorak Shep to Kala Pathar summit & back, then trek down to Dingboche - 16.2 km

Day 11 - Trek Day 10: Dingboche to Namche Bazaar – 19.4 km

Day 12 - Trek Day 11: Namche Bazaar to Lukla – 21.8 km

Day 13 – Fly to Kathmandu, celebration meal

Day 14 – Spare day in Kathmandu, visit historic sites

Day 15 – Fly Home

Total distance = 129 kilometres
