As well as your leader, we'll be supported by expert local guides. To access the mountain, we’ll first take an internal flight from Denpasar (Bali) to the town of Timika in Papua province. From here, due to current local access restrictions, we fly by helicopter directly to our Yellow Valley Base Camp (4,300m), where we’ll rest, acclimatise & prepare before attempting the reach the summit of this elusive peak. Base Camp is at a high elevation to fly to, but the trekking routes are currently closed due to inter-tribal unrest. On the helicopter flight we’re limited to 15kgs per person.

We'll eat at base camp in a communal dining tent with chairs and table at base camp, and sufficient fresh water will be provided daily to ensure you stay hydrated.
