Moel Siabod is a 867m high peak which is nestled in the stunning Snowdonia Mountain Range of Wales. The Dear Du route up this mountain is easily the best. As a scramble it's not technical, however this means that it is a perfect route for novice scramblers.

The picturesque views of Betws-y-coed, Capel Curig and the valleys below this mountain ensure that the scramble is also extremely enjoyable. To increase the technicality of this scramble we will descend along the NE Ridge of the mountain, as appose to the tourist track.

Scramblers usually struggle more on this moutain because of navigation rather than technical scrambling, however by using local mountain leaders we ensure this won't be a problem. The mountain leaders will ensure your safety and point out some of the spectacular views and historical facts of the area.

Kit List

Safety

Your safety is our top priority. Our activities are fully risk assessed and we hold Public Liability Insurance via Lockton LLP. Our leaders carry a mountain first aid kit, an emergency shelter, a fully charged mobile phone & spare battery, spare warm clothing & emergency food and we have two-way radio contact with all of our guides at all times during an event. We hold a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Operator Licence.

Financial protection

We comply fully with the Package Travel Regulations and hold Financial Failure Insurance – so your money is fully protected. This policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Inspire Alpine®. This insurance has been arranged by Towergate Travel through Zurich Insurance PLC.

Weather

Regardless of the time of year, we may experience cloud, rain, wind, sun and even snow. The temperatures will be much cooler higher on the mountain tops, so having layers that you can add to and take off will work. We will of course adjust walking plans to take into consideration any adverse conditions, otherwise we go out in ‘most’ weather conditions, hence having waterproof and warm kit will help us carry on with our plans. Your Mountain Leaders are experience and qualified to make appropriate decisions about group safety. They will carry necessary group and safety equipment and are certified in Outdoor Emergency First Aid.
