Striding Edge- Helvellyn Scramble April 5th The striding edge route that leads to the peak of Helvellyn is a knife-edged and exposed route that is extremely popular amongst scramblers who visit the lake district. In fact it's famous for being one of the most popular scrambles in the whole of the UK. Begining in Lake District village of Glenridding this grade one scramble is an exhilirating experience, and is challenging for experienced hillwalkers or scramblers. Completing this scramble would see you climb a total of 850 meters at a distance of 6.5km, which means that it is the technicality and not distance of this scramble that provides the challenge. In order to ensure the safety of the scrambling group a number of mountain leaders will guide you safely across the route breathtaking route. Our leaders carry a mountain first aid kit, an emergency shelter, a fully charged mobile phone & spare battery, spare warm clothing & emergency food and we have two-way radio contact with all of our guides at all times during an event. We hold a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Operator Licence. Financial protection We comply fully with the Package Travel Regulations and hold Financial Failure Insurance – so your money is fully protected. This policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Inspire Alpine®. This insurance has been arranged by Towergate Travel through Zurich Insurance PLC. Weather Regardless of the time of year, we may experience cloud, rain, wind, sun and even snow. The temperatures will be much cooler higher on the mountain tops, so having layers that you can add to and take off will work. We will of course adjust walking plans to take into consideration any adverse conditions, otherwise we go out in ‘most’ weather conditions, hence having waterproof and warm kit will help us carry on with our plans. Your Mountain Leaders are experience and qualified to make appropriate decisions about group safety. They will carry necessary group and safety equipment and are certified in Outdoor Emergency First Aid. How To Book The booking process is as follows: 1. Choose your ticket type below. Once you've booked and/or paid your deposit you'll receive a second email requiring you to complete our online Client Information & Medical Declaration Form, which must be completed before we can confirm your booking. If you have a balance to pay, you can pay by bank transfer.
